        ACEEU SPOTLIGHT

        June Edition is out!

        3 Spotlight

How can countries around the world impact regional development by means of improving access to higher education?

In this month’s inspiring Spotlight article, Dr Pablo Vera Salazar highlights the remarkable impact achieved through the strategic alignment of purpose, support services and people-based management of the Talento Magdalena Program. This is a flagship program of Universidad del Magdalena which has steadily improved access to higher education among young rural individuals who face adverse socio-economic conditions.

The Magdalena region in Colombia has long endured the challenges of historical exclusion and pervasive poverty. However, thanks to the unwavering commitment of the Talento Magdalena Program, the barriers that once hindered progress are being shattered. This initiative aims to empower the youth in the region by providing them with unparalleled opportunities for higher education at Unimagdalena which stands as a novel example of an engaged university.

          ACEEU PROJECTS

ACEEU spearheads entrepreneurial skills in universities

          4-Riecolab

ACEEU advancing Engaged Research for HEIs

ACEEU contributes to hone entrepreneurial skills in universities thorugh the project Responsible innovation-led Entrepreneurial University Transformation Centres – RiEcoLab. The uniqueness of the RiEcoLab project is related to the use of Ecosystem Integration Laboratories (EILs) to develop and implement a new way of conducting R&D in universities to ensure immediate commercialization (spinoff). EILs enable the adaptation and exploitation of the specific ecosystem conditions of each partner. Their implementation ensures the implementation of responsible research and innovation, which forces co-creation and blending of internal staff (academic and non-academic) with external quadruple helix staff, leading to a better understanding of the innovation, commercialization and entrepreneurship landscape while leading to a change in mindset, pushing universities to become more engaged and market-oriented. CIRCULAR LOOPS WORKSHOP

            5 Circular Loops

The workshop on Circular Economy principles in social enterprises was finally held in Münster!

ACEEU brings sustainability and engagement together in this workshop. Have you ever wonder why and how Circular Economy principles can be applied to daily practices in social entreprises? In this workshop held on 16 June 2023, Emmanuel Ohene raised awareness on the urgent needs for circularity in our society, and participants were equipped with tools to adopt circularity in business and daily life.

The workshop took place in elbēn (means two hearts in Syriac-Arabic), a place for intercultural encounters between those who want to enjoy food and culture in a sustainable way. A perfect place for the participants to enjoy a manakish and to discuss how to practically apply some of the tools in their enterprises or businesses and how to create more awareness, interest and reach on the topic of Circular Economy in Social Enterprises in Germany.
