A challenge to scaling Third Mission Activities is maintaining quality and relevance?

As HEIs seek to expand their Third Mission reach beyond local or regional contexts, they may compromise relevance and impact (Compagnucci & Spigarelli, 2020). To maintain quality at scale and ensure measurable societal influence across diverse settings, adaptable frameworks and evaluation tools are key. As a global quality assurance and accreditation body, ACEEU addresses this by assessing institutions against standards like Impact, Influence within the Ecosystem, and Third Mission Activities, certifying that scale is matched with purpose, quality, and accountability.

Projects

ACEEU’s European Projects Unit meets the challenge of scalability by co-developing solutions to social, economic, and cultural needs alongside international teams. Our quality assurance expertise ensures project outcomes are useful for diverse users, fostering global impact.

CyberSecPro aligns hands-on cybersecurity training with market needs, ensuring scalable, industry-relevant outcomes that maintain local impact and address Europe's evolving digital security landscape. 

DICE supports scalable impact by digitising community engagement, ensuring relevance to local needs through  tailored processes and tools, and a digital accelerator platform.

ACE fosters strategic, peer-driven learning among HEI staff, ensuring expanded community engagement remains contextually relevant, locally grounded, and responsive to societal needs across Europe.
