ACEEU carried out the third mentoring session for two groups on 28th March 2023 and 03 April 2023 consecutively for its Mentees who completed the 2-DAY training and required course modules in the Circular Loops platform.
During the first activity, Mentees were engaged in their first activity where they explored the topic of Greenwashing(suggested as one expectation by participants in the first session) by discussing the meaning of the topic, the sins of greenwashing, case studies of greenwashing, facts and figures on Greenwashing in the EU through a survey conducted in 2020, how to avoid greenwashing and the new EU draft law aimed at preventing greenwashing in the region .
In the second activity, Mentees were presented with case scenarios and were to debate , within the group, which option represents the most ecological alternative, and why; by approaching and applying the 8 Rs principles.More than finding the correct answer, it was important to discuss the reasons behind each alternative being more or less sustainable.
In the third activity, Mentees watched a short documentary from exploring Alternatives which aims to address 12 Cheap & Easy Tips for Reducing Your Waste - Sustainable Zero Waste Hacks. Mentees after this activity, jointly discussed the applicability of the tools presented in the documentary in their personal and professional life.
