Joining Forces for Citizen Science Now Impact

As time progresses, the Citizen Science NOW (CS NOW) project partners remain dedicated to promoting the subject in their respective countries by collaborating with other projects and organizing events. This commitment is evident in the efforts of partners like the University of Barcelona and MUAS (FH Muenster), who organize collaborations and events in their nations.

The University of Barcelona (UB) creates a synergy with another EU project, TORCH. This project is dedicated to exploring innovative approaches for universities to address key challenges such as climate change, sustainability, the gender gap, inclusion, and equity. Additionally, TORCH aims to promote civic engagement, further citizen science, and encourage meaningful dialogue with stakeholders. Therefore, UB is streamlining efforts to mutually benefit both initiatives by crafting training resources for CS NOW, which aligns with TORCH's overarching aspirations. Furthermore, UB has assembled an IDP-ICE working group of approximately 30 researchers with the collective objective of developing the CS NOW training program. Also, a recent student-led initiative from the Münster University of Applied Sciences exemplifies CS NOW's core values: engaging citizens in meaningful scientific discourse for societal advancement. Their project, centred on promoting heat transition in Saerbeck, exemplifies the transformative power of collaborative knowledge. Through public dialogues, these students underscored the significance of community-centric climate solutions while addressing the intricacies and ambiguities associated with heat transition, a topic currently in the legislative limelight. To get more details about the collaboration check the dedicated post.

The success of such initiatives illustrates the amplified impact when multiple projects and institutions unite. By ensuring CS NOW's findings are disseminated and deliberated at the national level, its influence is magnified. This not only heightens the recognition and comprehension of Citizen Science but also motivates more individuals to participate, culminating in a well-informed and active community.
