Breaking Down Ageism Barriers: Pages Awareness Campaign on combating Ageism

Ageism is a pervasive issue that impacts people's thoughts, emotions, and actions towards others and themselves based on age. This mentality creates significant barriers to developing effective policies and programs for both younger and older individuals, with negative consequences for older adults' health and well-being. Additionally, ageist attitudes can shape how professionals engage with older populations, often leading to discrimination arising from stereotypes about ageing, even if they are not conscious.

To address this issue, the Pages Project has been launched to promote awareness and combat ageism in society. The project partners have proposed the "I am not too old, not too young challenge" on social media platforms, which consists of a series of awareness campaigns aimed at helping the public recognize and overcome unconscious biases regarding age. The consortium hopes that this campaign will help individuals become more aware of ageism and work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all ages.

The Pages Project is an important initiative that aims to raise awareness and fight against ageism, but it is essential that all people take action to challenge their own biases and promote positive attitudes towards ageing. By working together, the partners hope to create a society that values and respects individuals of all ages.
