The fourth and final training in the Skills4Water project took place from 31 March to 4 April 2025 in Galati, Romania, marking a meaningful close to a series of training on soft skills for young water professionals and academics. Hosted by the University of Galati, the training week brought together 15 participants and project partners for a mix of learning, reflection, and collaboration. Led by the training expert, Naomi Timmer, Director of the H2O People organisation, the training session focused on Dealing with Complexity, Intervision, and "My Personal Path".
“Dealing with Complexity” addressed the realities of working in volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous situations (VUCA). “Intervision”, a peer-coaching method, provided space for open dialogue and mutual learning, while “My Personal Path” invited participants to reflect on their professional journeys and aspirations for the future. A recurring takeaway among participants was the importance of stepping back when things get complicated and looking at the bigger picture instead of focusing on individual aspects.
A field trip to the Fisherman Village organised as part of the training gave participants a chance to immerse themselves in the local culture and learn more about the heritage of the host community. Alongside the training, the project partners held a meeting to review the project’s progress, finalize outstanding work, and prepare for the upcoming final conference in Cádiz, Spain.
As we approach the final chapter of this journey, we carry forward the skills and connections developed over the course of the project and we will continue to apply them in our professional and personal paths. Stay tuned for more updates!
