The 2025 ACEEU Forum and Triple E Awards , held from 8-10. September in Prague, Czech Republic, brought together 153 participants from 42 countries, including academics, researchers, administrative staff, and other higher education stakeholders.
Over three days, participants exchanged ideas on how higher education institutions can remain relevant, adaptable, and impact-driven amid accelerating shifts in technology and societal expectations.
The forum combined research tours, keynote discussions, pitch sessions, and EU funding workshops with a focus on the role of higher education in driving societal transformation. It also celebrated innovative projects shaping the sector.
One highlight among the showcased projects was the SHIFT Erasmus+ Project, which equips students, academics, researchers, and staff with the skills and knowledge to monitor ESG practices in higher education institutions. SHIFT directly reflected the forum's theme, “Knowledge in Action,” by turning research and expertise into practical tools that enhance the societal and environmental impact of universities.
Among the tools is the ESG Impact Index Matrix in Higher Education, an open self-assessment platform that helps universities implement and monitor their ESG practices. By providing universities with clear and practical monitoring tools, SHIFT makes ESG measurable, actionable, and visible across the higher education landscape.
