ACEEU believes that education drives sustainable transformation. When higher education institutions, professionals, policymakers, and civil society collaborate, innovation moves from ideas to action, strengthening the engaged and entrepreneurial ecosystems needed for a greener future.
As the lead partner for piloting and dissemination in the ANGIE project, ACEEU is committed to creating opportunities for meaningful knowledge exchange and supporting institutions in shaping sustainability-oriented education.
On 22 October 2025, ACEEU led the strategic planning and coordination of the first webinar in the ANGIE series “Producing Sustainability through Education: Manufacturing and Environment.” The session brought together more than 50 participants from higher education institutions, research centres, industry, and actors within the WATERIC sectors to explore how education supports the green transition.
The webinar opened with Prof. Ionel-Dănuț Savu from UCV, who presented the ANGIE Graduate Study Programme on the Transition to Green for a Sustainable Society.
Next, Prof. Giuseppe Casalino from POLIBA introduced participants to the rapidly evolving field of human–robot collaboration in 3D printing, illustrating how advanced manufacturing technologies can accelerate sustainable production processes.
Shifting towards the environmental dimension, Prof. Inês da Fonseca Ascenso from ULISBOA, discussed the opportunities and challenges of plastic circularity, stressing the importance of systemic solutions to reduce waste and close material loops.
Prof. Damjan Klobčar from University of Ljubljana concluded the session with insights into sustainable joining processes and how greener manufacturing methods can reduce carbon footprints.
The two-hour webinar demonstrated how ANGIE creates a collaborative space where academic experts and professionals can jointly discuss solutions for greener industries and communities, while also strengthening the knowledge and skills of professionals involved in designing and operating systems across the WATERIC sectors.
